A Kind of Medicine That Doesn’t Miss the Story

Autoimmune conditions aren’t one-size-fits-all. Some people feel it in their thyroid. Others in their joints. Still others carry it in their skin, gut, or mood. But wherever it shows up, it’s never just physical. It’s deeply personal.

Dr. Geyer has spent over a decade listening for patterns in what others often miss. She doesn’t just want to know what hurts—she wants to know when it began, what was happening in your life then, what your days feel like now. She understands that the body never speaks without reason. It just takes a different kind of listening to hear it.

At Empower, the process isn’t linear. It’s not about slapping on a diagnosis and rushing to treat. It’s about honoring the slow unraveling of imbalance—and carefully rebuilding your health from the inside out.

You Are Not Just Your Labs

Too often, patients arrive carrying years of “normal” bloodwork, despite feeling anything but. They’ve been told to try yoga, manage stress, or just live with it. And still, their symptoms linger.

That’s why Empower’s approach goes far deeper than surface-level lab ranges. Dr. Geyer uses advanced testing—but more importantly, she brings context. Interpretation. Intuition. She knows that healing isn’t only science. It’s also story.

And according to the National Institutes of Health, autoimmune diseases now affect over 24 million Americans, with nearly 80% being women. That alone tells us something: the way we approach immune health must change. Because this isn’t rare. It’s real. And it’s rising.

Healing here doesn’t happen all at once. Instead, it unfolds slowly, gently. A little more energy here. A little less inflammation there. Dr. Geyer often reminds patients: healing is a remembering—a rebalancing, a returning to something that was always yours.

She looks at everything:

The gut, where so much of your immunity lives. If it’s inflamed, so are you.

Your hormones, which shift with stress, sleep, aging, and trauma.

The toxin load, which is real—even if no one’s ever asked you about it.

The genetics, not as destiny, but as a map we can learn from.

And the nervous system, where so many root causes are quietly stored.

The Landscape of Healing

Dr. Geyer doesn’t just hand out protocols. She crafts a relationship—with your body, your story, and your path back to wellness.

The Additions That Make All the Difference

In the course of healing, it’s often the smallest shifts that yield the most powerful change. Not just in blood panels, but in daily life. Being able to wake up and not feel like you're dragging a boulder. Eating without fear. Feeling emotions again without being overtaken by them.

It’s not a checklist. It’s a slow unfolding. And Empower gives you permission to go at your own pace—because when you’ve been inflamed for years, gentleness becomes part of the medicine too.

This care isn’t about fixing broken parts. It’s about reminding your body it’s safe again. That’s often when the immune system starts to soften. That’s when inflammation quiets. That’s when healing begins.

The Everyday, Subtle Wins

One of the things Dr. Geyer often hears is, “I didn’t realize how long I’ve been surviving.” Autoimmune symptoms have a way of becoming the background noise you stop noticing. Until one day, you feel clear. Less reactive. More... yourself.

At Empower Integrative Health, the goal isn’t just remission. It’s reclamation. You get to have energy. You get to feel joy. You get to trust your body again—not fear it.

And this healing isn’t only about what’s physical. It’s about living again. Fully.

Frequently Asked Questions About Autoimmune

What if I haven’t been diagnosed yet?

You’re still welcome here. We work with many patients who are early in their journey—people who feel something is wrong but haven’t been given a name for it yet. Dr. Geyer can guide you through thoughtful testing and root-cause investigation.

Is Empower covered by insurance?

Empower is out-of-network, but most PPO plans in Scottsdale reimburse for visits and labs. We provide superbills, and many of our patients receive partial reimbursements based on their coverage.

When will I start feeling better?

Most patients start noticing subtle changes within a few months. It depends on the depth of the condition and the pace your body heals. Our approach focuses on sustainability, not speed.

I don’t live in North Scottsdale. Can I still work with you?

Absolutely. Patients come from all over—Old Town, Tempe, Paradise Valley, Fountain Hills, and beyond. Virtual visits are available for Arizona residents when appropriate.

How is this different from a traditional rheumatologist or specialist?

Specialists are trained to diagnose and medicate. Empower Integrative Health asks why the condition started in the first place. We look at the root systems—gut, hormones, toxins, genetics, and lifestyle—to address the cause, not just the outcome.

You’re not broken. You’re not overreacting. And you’re not alone.
